A warm welcome to the website of our courtyard and garden "Erf Klein Rassert". These are situated in Hoevelaken (a residential area of the city of Nijkerk) in a beautiful quiet environment just outside the village. We are in the heart of the Netherlands near the medieval city of Amersfoort (6 km) and the National Park "De Hoge Veluwe" (about 30 km.)
We have been busy creating the garden since 1992. Space and peace are the outstanding characteristics of our former working farm. We brought structure into the garden by planting hedges and there are borders abundant with special plants. Lawns, borders and different "rooms", two small orchards, a shrubbery for birds, a wildlifepool and more...
We gathered inspiration for the garden during our frequent gardentrips to the UK and other country's. You wil even find a little "Dutch wave"in our garden.
For many years we play host for a couple of barn-owls; we also see the kingfisher and the green woodpecker regularly.
We support the Nederlandse Tuinenstichting (Dutch Garden Society).
We hope to welcome you:
